Serve with cajun tofu and steamed broccoli.
Use whatever type of pasta you have on hand; if it’s gluten-free, use that as well.
To reduce calorie intake, cut the sauce’s component parts in half.
Mashing and stirring a few cloves of roasted garlic into the sauce will help to incorporate it.

FAQs
Can I make this ahead of time and reheat?
Since this sauce does not reheat well, it is best to eat it right away. It will be extremely buttery if you eat leftovers, but you can restore some of the richness by adding a small amount extra cream during the reheating process.
What if my butter melts before the pasta is done?
The butter should just be melted, not cooked until browned. Remove the butter from the heat and return it when you’re ready to add the pasta if it melts before then.
Is fettuccine alfredo healthy?
This recipe is not healthy in my opinion because it is high in fat. I believe it’s okay to indulge in moderation because it’s tasty and created with real ingredients.
Can I substitute the heavy cream?
Since anything would significantly alter the texture, I do not advise replacing the heavy cream. If you’re determined to dilute it, swap out the heavy cream for half and half. For other customization choices, see below.
